Role Overview

Senior Python Backend Developer responsible for designing, developing, and improving cloud-native API services within a financial advisory platform environment. The role focuses on backend application development, API evolution, and supporting algorithmic enhancements for financial allocation and portfolio advisory solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend application services using Python

• Develop and expose cloud-native APIs using Flask and FastAPI

• Participate in major enhancements of financial allocation advisory algorithms

• Collaborate with financial engineering teams to support adoption of new functionalities

• Contribute to architecture and implementation decisions for backend services

• Improve existing codebase quality and promote continuous improvement practices

• Support migration activities from Flask to FastAPI

• Develop scalable and maintainable cloud-based backend solutions

• Participate in Agile/Scrum team activities alongside developers, Tech Lead, Scrum Master, and Project Manager

• Troubleshoot and resolve backend and API-related issues

• Ensure high-quality, testable, and maintainable code delivery

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in Python backend application development

• Proven experience building application APIs (not scripting or DevOps-focused Python)

• Hands-on experience with Flask and/or FastAPI

• Strong understanding of REST API development and cloud-native architectures

• Experience working in cloud-based application environments

• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business-oriented teams

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments

• French language – REQUIRED

• Experience in financial services, portfolio management, or asset management environments

• Exposure to algorithmic or quantitative finance applications

• Experience supporting API modernization initiatives
