Role Overview

The Application Developer – SAP Enterprise Integration is responsible for the design, development, optimization, and support of enterprise integration solutions using SAP PI/PO.

This is a hands-on, senior-level development role focused on building and maintaining reliable, high-performance integration flows between SAP and non-SAP systems within complex enterprise landscapes.

Key Responsibilities:

Integration development (SAP PI/PO)

• Design and develop integration scenarios using SAP PI/PO (7.x)

• Work extensively with Enterprise Services Repository (ESR) and Integration Builder (IR/ID)

• Implement and maintain integrations using adapters such as File, SFTP, SOAP, REST, IDoc, RFC, and Proxy

Mappings & transformation logic

• Develop and maintain message mappings using Graphical Mapping, Java Mapping, and XSLT

• Ensure data consistency, correctness, and transformation performance across interfaces

Performance tuning & operational support

• Perform performance tuning and error resolution for PI/PO interfaces

• Support monitoring and troubleshooting using PI Monitoring tools and Runtime Workbench

• Contribute to interface stability and operational excellence

Enterprise integration & collaboration

• Work with SAP ECC integration objects including IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and Proxies

• Collaborate with functional, ABAP, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end integrations

• Support enhancements, fixes, and change requests in an enterprise environment

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with SAP PI/PO (7.x)

• Expertise in ESR and Integration Builder (IR/ID)

• Solid understanding of enterprise integration adapters and middleware concepts

• Experience with integration performance tuning and troubleshooting

• Strong understanding of SAP ECC integration mechanisms

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

• Clear communication with technical and functional stakeholders

• Ability to work independently on complex integration topics

• Ownership mindset for solution quality and stability

Nice to Have:

• Experience with SAP CPI / Cloud Integration

• Basic ABAP knowledge for debugging IDoc and RFC issues

• Understanding of integration architecture and middleware best practices

• Knowledge of SSL, certificates, and security configurations

• Familiarity with SAP AIF
